Three pateras containing 158 people were intercepted off the coasts of Lanzarote on Wednesday.
Among the migrants on board the boats were 14 women and 1 child. The boats were intercepted by Maritime Rescue at sea and escorted to Puerto Naos, where Red Cross volunteers attended to the occupants.
The migrants will be held at the CATE centre near the police station in Arrecife for initial processing before being moved to accommodation centres on the other islands or on mainland Spain.
