Local fire fighters were called to three fires in Arrecife last weekend.
At noon yesterday afternoon, fire fighters were called to a fire at an abandoned house in the centre of Arrecife on calle Fajardo. The house was searched for any inhabitants before the rescue team extinguished and ventilated the property.
Shortly after, emergency services were alerted o a fire at a local betting shop between calle Triana and calle Blas Cabrera Tophan. The fire had started in a room where butane and propane bottles were stored – fire fighters acted quickly and extinguished the flames and prevent what could have cause much more damage.
Later that day at 6pm, fire fighters were again called to another fire on calle Aires de Lima in Argana Alta. Upon arrival they found that rubbish had been set on fire at an abandoned building site. The fire was extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
