The Mayor of San Bartolomé has contacted Spain’s airport authority AENA to offer the council’s provisional assistance in cleaning and tidying the airport grounds.
The state of the airport has raised concern as AENA attempts to sort out a contract for cleaning and caring for its impressive gardens.
San Bartolomé has offered to lend a council team to carry out tidying duties until the contract is awarded.
Mayor Isidro Pérez said “César Manrique Airport is the main gateway of Lanzarote and we want to contribute to ensuring that its environment is in the best possible condition, because the image that is currently being given cannot be allowed to continue.”
