The Saborea Lanzarote food fair arrives later this month and is rapidly becoming another important aspect of the run-up to the Christmas season on Lanzarote.
Lanzarote’s biggest annual food fair is an unmissable event for everyone who’s interested in the development.
For one weekend, on the 23rd and 24th of November, the old town of Teguise will be buzzing with activity, as hungry visitors arrive to sample some of the many delights on offer.
Among the exhibitors will be Jon Pérez, one of the most innovative young chefs on the island, whose Nakai Bar on Playa Honda’s seafront has become a favourite among Lanzarote gourmets.
Jon will be presenting some of the Asian fusion dishes that he’s made his name with, such as ramen noodles or gyoza dumplings, all prepared with fresh local ingredients.
It’ll be a busy November for Jon, who will also be hosting the latest edition of ConVinados at Nakai. This event, carried out with Lanzarote’s Wine Council, will see Jon presenting a starting menu of four dishes with four carefully selected Lanzarote wines. The event will take place from the 4th to 10th November.
And in the run-up to Christmas Jon will also be busy as a private chef, attending clients’ homes and preparing one of three perfectly balanced menus. It’s a new initiative that has proved extremely popular, allowing you to bring the highest level of ingredients and skill into your own home.
Jon is just one of over a hundred exhibitors at the Food Fair, which is perfectly timed to allow you to plan your Christmas shopping. We’d advise taking a notebook, or just using your phone to remember the details of restaurants and producers that catch your eye or tantalise your taste buds.
It’s a weekend of discovery, an event that lays all of Lanzarote’s delights out on a plate in front of you, inviting you to enjoy every last mouthful.
