Saborea Lanzarote enjoyed a successful first day at the GastroCanarias 2025 food fair.

The GastroCanarias food fair is the largest in the Canaries, with more than 200 stands, 90 exhibiting companies and a professional attendance of more than 19,000 people over the course of 3 days.

Once again, Saborea Lanzarote (Tasting Lanzarote) featured as a guest island with its own large stand featuring some of the island’s best local products as well as a large kitchen with live cooking.

This year’s stand shows off local products like gofio, cheeses, wines, jams, sweet potato, tomato and goat meat to be tasted by visitors.

On the first day, chefs Orlando Ortega (Lilium), Luis Amorós (Meridiano), Dailos Perdomo (Liken) and Javier Hernández (Tacande) offered show cookings at the kitchen, with gathered a crowed of interested professionals and media outlets.

Lanzarote Cabildo president, Oswaldo Betancort, stressed the importance of being at GastroCanarias, “Our proposal reflects the strength of the primary sector, the excellence of the local product and the talent of our chefs”.

Councilor for Economic Promotion, Nori Machín, stressed that “GastroCanarias is an opportunity to continue positioning Lanzarote as a differentiated gastronomic destination”.
