Take extra care by the sea this afternoon, especially if you’re heading to the north or west coasts of the island.
Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, has issued weather warnings for high seas today and tomorrow morning. The warning is yellow from 3pm until 6pm and is orange – the second-highest level of alert – overnight, before reverting to yellow from 3 am to 8 am.
The island’s authorities have also declared a pre-alert for high seas, ensuring that emergency services are prepared for possible incidents.
Citizens are recommended to avoid coastal areas during this period, especially those directly exposed to waves, and advised to take care on seafront promenades and coastal roads.
