A yellow alert for rough seas has been issued for Saturday by Spain’s weather agency, AEMET.
The alert runs from 6 am until midnight and warns of waves that could reach up to 4-5 metres in height affecting the northern and western coasts of Lanzarote.
Yellow is the lowest level of alert, but the warning means that it would be wise to stay away from piers and exposed coastlines in the northern coasts of the island.
AEMET also predicts a 100% chance of rain for this afternoon (Friday 23rd), while the weekend is forecast to be dry but a little cooler.
