Rescue at Playa del Risco

A 49-year-old man was rescued from the Playa del Risco in Haría after injuring his leg.

Emergency services received a call at 10.09 am and firemen travelled to the beach on a jetski. There, they applied first aid before evacuating the man to Órzola, where he was taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.

The Playa del Risco is one of the most isolated beaches on Lanzarote, which walkers can only reach by descending a steep, rocky path down the Famara cliffs.
