Registration is now open for the ever-popular Puerto del Carmen Music Run Night, with the starting pistol set to fire at the Plaza de las Naciones this April.

Tías Ayuntamiento has announced that the nighttime event in the heart of Puerto del Carmen will take place on Friday, 18th April. Runners will have their choice of three distances, all set to a soundtrack of live music along the route.

The Mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Sports Councillor, Ismael Cruz, have highlighted that 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of Puerto del Carmen’s development as a tourist destination. They have extended an invitation to everyone, whether lacing up for the race or simply soaking up the atmosphere, to come down and help create a vibrant, festive spirit along the coast.

The race is scheduled to get underway at 9.30pm in the Los Pocillos and Matagorda area. Participants can tackle distances of 10 kilometres, five kilometres, or 1.6 kilometres, with both male and female categories available. True to its name, music will take centre stage throughout the evening, with performances from a variety of DJs and bands, alongside activities such as Zumba, salsa, and body pump.

Entries are open to everyone, from elite athletes and club runners to families looking for a fun evening out. Those interested can sign up via the platform at www.summitsportsevents.com.

Following the success of the last edition, which saw 603 runners representing 17 different nationalities cross the finish line, this year’s event is expected to draw another strong turnout from both residents and visitors alike.
