The Punto Limpio (recycling point) at Costa Teguise has finally opened to the public three years after the initially announced date.
The delay was explained by the fact that, although the facility itself was concluded in time, access roads needed to be built.
The recycling point was opened yesterday by Teguise Mayor Oswaldo Betancort and Cabildo President María Dolores Corujo. It provides a point where residents of Costa Teguise and other towns in the vicinity can get rid of waste that cannot be thrown out in rubbish containers, such as building rubble, garden clippings, old appliances and potentially toxic materials.
Punto Limpios are free to use and booking is not required.
The Punto Limpio is located opposite Calle de las Buganvillas in Costa Teguise, between the Aguapark and the golf course.
It is the first Punto Limpio in the municipality of Teguise and the fifth on the island, following those in Tias, Arrecife, Playa Blanca and Playa Honda.
