Pylons to be constructed in Femes

Appropriation of land for an electricity line connecting Playa Blanca with Macher will commence in March, El Diario de Lanzarote reports.

The 17.8-kilometre line will affect more than 50 landowners and will controversially involve constructing a series of pylons on the protected Los Ajaches National Monument zone on the mountains of Femes and Las Casitas. Some of these pylons could exceed 40 metres in height.

Although the legal process of appropriation will begin in March, dates for the new line have not been announced yet.
