Together the mayor of Tías and the president of the Cabildo, presented the program of events for this weekend as well as the opening of the St. Patrick’s Day pop-up shop.

“In Ireland and in Puerto del Carmen, we are celebrating. Through this presentation, I wish to convey my sincere congratulations to the Irish people and to all those who carry Ireland in their hearts. The commemoration of St. Patrick’s Day is a global event that we also enjoy in our municipality”.

“This celebration is an opportunity both for the coexistence of different cultures and for the overall revitalisation of Puerto del Carmen, both in accommodation establishments, stores, bars and restaurants. I would like to thank the loyalty of the Irish community for choosing Puerto del Carmen. We like them to feel at home in the municipality of Tías and Lanzarote, to reside with us and every year they choose us as their favourite destination,” stated Tías mayor, José Juan Cruz.

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, said during the presentation that “together we will consolidate a tourism product that contains the essence of Lanzarote and Ireland and that is a must to visit us on the occasion of Saint Patrick’s Day”.

“In that sense, the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Tias Ayuntamiento will dedicate this weekend a special program to celebrate a historical celebration that extols the aspects of Irish culture, in honour of the loyalty of the Irish tourist, and at the same time is a new leisure attraction that generates economy,” he concluded.
