Aena announced last week that it will carry out soundproofing works in more than 1,000 properties surrounding the Lanzarote Airport.
AENA, Spain’s airport authority, has committed to the soundproofing of 1,600 homes and buildings that are affected by aircraft noise on Lanzarote.
Over 1,000 of the homes and buildings affected are located in Playa Honda, however, properties in the Matagorda area of Tías and the barrio of Argana Alta in northern Arrecife also qualify for soundproofing.
Aena has reminded that the actions are carried out in homes and buildings of sensitive use (health, educational or cultural centres) that are within the airport’s Acoustic Easement and that have a continuous sound level equivalent to 60 decibels (dB) during the day or afternoon, or 50 dB at night and with a construction license prior to its approval, produced on September 28, 2021.
AENA say that residents must contact them to be included in the soundproofing project, either by calling the Acoustic Insulation Plans Management Office on 915 903 170 or by email at oficina.paa@ineco.com.
