La Graciosa suffered a power cut for several hours yesterday, causing serious problems for homes, bars and restaurants on the island.
After the outage was reported at around 7 am, technicians made their way to one of the pylons at the foot of the Famara cliffs, where the problem had originated. After several hours work, the electricity was reconnected at around 3.30 pm.
During the day, a small electrical generator was able to provide some power to the oldest houses in Caleta de Sebo, but was not sufficient to supply the whole town.
