Arrecife’s port received 37.5% fewer passengers in 2022 than in 2019, the last “normal” year before the pandemic.

448,124 passengers arrived on ferries and cruisers at Arrecife’s port last year, a 76% increase on 2021 but still 268,439 short of 2019’s figures.

In 2019 , 85,000 vehicles arrived by ferry, while last year the figure was 55,000. Cruisers passengers also dropped compared to 2019, when more than half a million cruise

passengers disembarked at Lanzarote. Last year the total was 335,000.

The figures reflect a slower recovery in sea transport than by air routes. Among possible explanations are the uncertainty that existed in 2020, when cruise schedules for the coming year were planned.

Meanwhile, 1.727,659 tons of goods and merchandise arrived at the port last year, an increase on all previous years.
