A car left the road and damaged the concrete fence at Puerto Naos early on Sunday morning. It is assumed the driver escaped unharmed.
Arrecife residents woke on Sunday morning to find a Seat Picasso wedged into the concrete fence that protects the port area. The area was taped off by the Port Police, but on Sunday night the car still has not been removed.
Whether the fence will be repaired is another question. Plans were recently announced to replace it with a fence that offers more visibility of the port area.
Later on Sunday, at 12.45, a 65-year old man was taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering a collision with another vehicle on Arrecife’s Rambla Medular (Inner Ring Road. The man’s injuries are not said to be serious.
