Tías Ayuntamiento has announced that Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen has been declared a “smoke-free” area. Additionally, they have released a survey for making other beaches in the resort smoke-free.
The smoke-free objective comes as a solution to cigarette butt litter on beaches. Tías Ayuntamiento plans to join the Canary Islands “Smoke-free Beaches Program” (PSHC), promoted by the Canarian Government in collaboration with the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities (FECAM).
Tías Ayuntamiento has conducted an online survey for the possible declaration for the beaches of Matagorda, Pocillos, el Barranquillo, La Peñita, Playa Grande and El Poril to become smoke-free. The survey can be accessed at this link: https://forms.gle/Y7b1TDpHrtkxtigC6.
