Playa Blanca town beach closed again

Playa Blanca’s town beach has been closed again due to sewage spills.

This year the town beach in Lanzarote’s sunny southern resort has been closed a couple of times due to sewage leaks. Last Sunday the beach was closed again due to a new sewage leak.

The Popular Party of Yaiza have publicly stated their regrets that “sewage spills have again become the protagonist of the news these days in the municipality after the new closure of the beach of the village of Playa Blanca, which has been closed to bathing since last Sunday”.

The PP criticise that the beach has been closed once again, in the month of August when there are more tourists and also that it has remained closed for a few days.

The PP have also criticised the lack of response from the Yaiza Mayor who is yet to make a public statement on the closure of the beach.
