Playa Blanca town beach closed again

Playa Blanca’s Blue Flag town beach has once again been closed due to sewage being detected in the water.

Lanzarote’s Emergency Consortium took the decision yesterday. It is hoped that the beach will be declared safe for use over the weekend, with Lanzarote’s water supplier Canal Gestión responsible for the necessary repairs.

It is the second time in recent months that the beach has been closed. In early May, it was taped off for a few days after a leak from a sewage pumping station.
