Yaiza residents gathered at the Playa Blanca seafront last weekend to watch the arrival of the Virgen del Carmen by boat.
The Nuevo Santo Domingo fishing boat carried the Virgen del Carmen to the Playa Blanca beach yesterday, escorted by more than 70 boats.
The town beach was packed with residents and tourists who gathered to watch as the Virgen del Carmen was lifted off of the boat and paraded through the town. After arriving on land, the Virgen was brought to the local church.
Concerts and street parades took places in the centre of town by the local Yaiza Vocal Association and municipal band.
