Person filmed picking up stones at Timanfaya National Park

A video has surfaced on TikTok showing a passenger, in the queue of cars at Timanfaya, leaving their vehicle and picking up stones from the side of the road.

The video was uploaded to TikTok this month with the caption “once again a tourist doing whatever they want on the islands. It is forbidden to get out of the car [at Timanfaya] but they get out and pick up stones as a souvenir.”.

This isn’t the first incident to take place at the Timanfaya National Park. Earlier this year a group of people were filmed leaving the path and climbing a small hill (which is strictly prohibited.)

The Canarian Government informs on its website that visitors are “not allowed to leave the path, as the area has been declared a reserve due to its fragility and ecological importance.”
