Lanzarote’s Emergency Consortium have reported that Salvamento Marítimo rescued a patera with 46 people on board this morning.
According to the report, a child on board was possibly suffering from appendicitis and had to be evacuated to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife immediately after arriving on the island.
The boat was spotted at approximately 3am this morning just 3 miles from Órzola in the north of Lanzarote.
The 46 on board are now being treated by Cruz Roja and they will not await the following procedures.
