A patera carrying 52 people was spotted near Lanzarote this morning.
The boat was rescued by Salvamento Marítimo this morning, where they found 52 people on board.
The emergency services transported the boat to Arrecife’s main pier, where the people on board will have been assessed by Cruz Roja before they are assigned to temporary accommodation in the camp near the national police station.
Two of the people on board have been taken to the Dr Jose Molina Orosa hospital in Arrecife.
