Parrot Rescued as Fire Claims Several Animals Near Tahiche

Firefighters attended a fire in a property near Tahiche last night, rescuing a parrot and confirming that several other animals had died.

The call was received at 11pm, and firefighters confirmed that the fire had affected various belongings outside the building, and had reached the front door and a bedroom window. The blaze was extinguished with water, and a parrot was rescued from the smoke-filled interior of the house.

However, two cats and various pigeons and chickens were confirmed to have perished in the fire.
