Paris proposal

Lanzarote athlete Lionel Morales took advantage of the opening ceremony of the Paralympics in Paris to propose to his girlfriend, Jessica Sartori.

Lionel, who will plunge into the Seine as a participant in the Paralympic triathlon event tomorrow, chose the Olympic Village for the surprise, and showed himself to be as romantic as he is determined, dropping to one knee to formally ask his partner to marry him.

Sartori reacted with delighted surprise before accepting, to the cheers and whoops of Lionel’s teammates from the Spanish Paralympics squad.

We wish the couple all the best, and hope that Lionel will return to Lanzarote wearing more than just a ring on his finger.
