The Lanzarote Cabildo has confirmed that the popular Papagayo Campsite will reopen its doors for the Easter period, operating from 27th March through to 5th April.

The facility welcomes visitors again this spring following the completion of a series of enhancements. The improvement project was undertaken entirely by the Cabildo’s own staff. Upgrades have included new roofing, electrical improvements, and the installation of fresh solar panels. Access control has been bolstered, the auxiliary engine replaced, and the site has benefited from repainting and updated signage.

Cabildo President, Oswaldo Betancort, stressed the importance of the site’s reopening during peak times. “The opening of the campsite enables us to meet high demand during key dates, ensuring an orderly and regulated service in a natural environment of special value,” he stated.

Visitors hoping to secure a spot can begin booking from this Friday, 20th March. Reservations are being taken exclusively online through the official website, acampadapapagayo.com. The platform allows users to check real-time availability, select a specific pitch using an interactive map, and complete payment by credit card.

The Papagayo Campsite holds the distinction of being the only regulated camping ground on the entire island. It offers a total of 259 pitches, comprising 32 spaces designated for small tents and 227 pitches suitable for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, or larger tents.

The facilities are designed to accommodate a wide range of visitors. The site features:

  • Pitches adapted for people with reduced mobility
  • Designated areas for pets
  • Options for both short and long-term stays
  • Toilets and washbasins
  • Indoor and outdoor showers
  • Water supply points
  • A drainage connection on each pitch
  • A waste water tank
  • Night lighting
  • Barbecue areas
  • 24-hour security
  • Adapted access to the beach
