Hot days and restless nights are likely on Lanzarote over the next few days as the Spanish weather agency AEMET has issued orange heat alerts for Friday and Saturday
The orange alerts will be in place from 11 am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures of 38 degrees predicted, that may rise even higher in the south-eastern areas of the island. A yellow heat alert is already in place.
Lanzarote’s emergency consortium met with local councils yesterday and it was agreed that all open air activities before 6pm will be suspended until Sunday.
An orange alert means “Be prepared and stay informed”.
