Busy scenes at the Open Mall Shopping Centre, which officially opened for business this morning.
The €85 million private initiative is expected to bring 500 jobs to the capital, and 1,000 more in indirect employment.
Shops that have not previously been seen on Lanzarote include the German shoe shop Deichmann, Danish furniture store JYSK and the French fashion chain Kiabi. Primark is also expected in the first quarter of 2023.
Arrecife also welcomes back Zara, whose branch in the town centre closed a couple of years ago, and residents of the capital will also be able to enjoy pizza and pasta at the legendary La Rustica.
