Noise complaints in Arrecife

A noise abatement association in Arrecife has hired legal assistance to tackle the problem of noise pollution in the capital.

The Platform Against Noise, which has 154 members, “It’s absolutely necessary that we present complaints, so that there is a record of the nuisance” the Platform stated. It complains that the Ayuntamiento of Arrecife has failed to respond to any of their enquiries or requests.

Arrecife’s Ayuntamiento has introduced laws permitting bars and other establishments to remain open until 4 am next Monday and Wednesday, when the main carnival celebrations will take place.
