Yaiza Mayor Óscar Noda yesterday confirmed that he will stand as the Nueva Canarias candidate for the presidency of Lanzarote’s Cabildo.
Noda will remain at the head of his Unidos Por Yaiza (Together For Yaiza) party, which will form part of the Nueva Canarias Broad Front.
Nuevas Canarias is a nationalist Canarian party whose strongholds are mainly on Gran Canaria, but the presence of the party in the ruling pact of the Canarian Government has raised their profile over the last four years, and the parties expectations are high for May’s elections.
