Lanzarote’s Cabildo has invited bids for the construction of the new bus station in Costa Teguise.
The €2.2 million project will be funded by EU Next Generation funds and post-Covid emergency public transport funds.
The new bus station will be situated on a 6,000 square metre plot near the new Civic Centre, close to the Colegio Arenas Internacional.
According to Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort, it will have “Green spaces, a cafeteria, parking for bicycles and a taxi stop, as well as electric charging points for vehicles and information points.
It is predicted that the station will be ready within a year.
