Maguéz’s Nature Centre (Aula de Naturaleza de Maguéz) is back up and running with a full programme of activities for schoolchildren.

The centre, located at the top of the hill in Magúez, is familiar to thousands of young islanders who have attended school trips and supervised nature walks in the beautiful and diverse area

However, in recent years it has remained closed for a long period during the pandemic and also used as a temporary centre for young unaccompanied migrants.

More than 4,000 schoolchildren are scheduled to take part in the organised activities at the centre this academic year, and another thousand are on a waiting list.

The centre offers 20 different walks for students in and around Maguéz and the Volcán de Corona – a rich natural area where students can learn about everything from grasses to Egyptian vultures.
