Lanzarote’s first five-star hotel, which was previously known as the Melía Salinas, has been officially re-opened after a €15 million renovation project.
The Costa Teguise hotel now known as the Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote was designed by the architect Fernando Higueras at the invitation of César Manrique in the 1970s, and Manrique himself designed many of the gardens and murals. Along with the Los Molinos Apartments, it was the first major tourist project in Costa Teguise.
The hotel has been receiving guests since July, but yesterday was the official presentation of the renovation project.
The hotel offers 282 rooms, pools, six restaurants and garden areas.
