Matagorda’s new playground opens

Tías Mayor, José Juan Cruz, officially opened the new playground in Matagorda’s seafront yesterday, accompanied by Parks Councillor Christopher Notario, and Commerce Councillor Miriam Hernández.

The new park is four times the size of its predecessor and is inspired by the theme of aviation, reflecting its proximity to César Manrique Airport. 

The playground has 16 play elements, including a multi-play aeroplane, a 6-metre control tower with a slide and a 21 metre zipline. There are also facilities for the disabled and shaded pergolas for parents and carers.  

Cruz said “We have a modern, accessible, and inclusive space, designed so that all children, without exception, can play, share, and grow in a stimulating environment.”
