Yaiza Ayuntamiento have installed marine life information boards in Playa Blanca to promote environmental awareness amongst locals and tourists.
The boards, which include basic information about marine life in the area, includes QR codes that allow you to learn more about the island’s biodiversity.
Two boards have been installed in Playa Blanca (one at Playa Flamingo and another on the promenade) where locals and tourists can discover the wealth of life that lives in the ocean.
The objective is “to make the population and tourists fall in love with the wonders of the seabed in order to raise awareness and emphasise conservation”, stated Yaiza councillor, Águeda Cedrés.
Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, added “this project is being carried out with Innoceana, the same NGO that carried out the latest study about the effect of the sea cages in Playa Quemada.”.
