Little goat captures hearts on Lanzarote

Yesterday we were lucky enough to meet Canelito, the little goat who has captured the hearts of so many on the island.

Named after his gorgeous cinnamon colour, Canelito was rejected by his mother and thrown into the rubbish by a farmer before being rescued. Seriously ill, the little kid was barely able to move, let alone walk.

Canelito found a home and new friends at the Casa de las Estrellas, the animal shelter run by the tireless Liala Miliardi in rural Teguise, and the online updates of his progress as he recovers strength, movement and makes his first steps have been inspiring.

We met Canelito and Liala at the Trastero del Baifo (Little Goat’s Storeroom), the charity shop in Arrecife which raises funds for the Casa de las Estrellas.

Located at Calle Tilama 3 in Arrecife, it’s open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
