Firemen from London and Lisbon were the winners at this weekend’s World Rescue Challenge in Puerto del Carmen.
A team of firemen from Lisbon beat Lanzarote’s crack team into second place in the competition to release people from cars, while the London Fire Brigade triumphed in the Trauma response category, “showing their ability to save lives under high pressure.”
Teams from 17 countries took part in the challenge, which has been judged as a big success for Lanzarote. Next year’s challenge will take place in the Azores.
