National Police have released photos of the visit of a three-year-old child whose life was saved by two officers on patrol last month.

The policemen were patrolling the area of the recently-opened Islote de la Fermina when they heard shouts from a restaurant. They rushed to the scene and discovered that the three-year-old had lost consciousness.

Instead of waiting for an ambulance, they decided to rush the child to hospital in their patrol car, but just before they arrived the little boy’s heart stopped.

Fortunately, hospital staff were able to resuscitate and stabilise the child. Last Friday his parents brought him to then Police Commission in Arrecife to say thank you.
