The biggest hotel on Lanzarote, the Barceló Playa Blanca Resort, will officially open on December 1st.
The four-star hotel overlooks the Playa Blanca coast, with views of the Isle of Lobos and Fuerteventura. It has 720 room s and 1,400 beds, two buffet restaurants, two themed restaurants, a sports bar, a lobby bar and two pool bars.
The hotel is owned by the Canarian company Hermanos Dominguéz, with management leased to the Barceló group for an initial ten-year period.
The Barceló Group currently manage 18 hotels in the Canary Islands, with a total of 6,000 rooms, 12,000 beds and employs 4,000 residents in both the hotels and travel agencies.
Bookings have been underway for several months and hotel sources claim that the hotel will be virtually full in December.

The new Barcelo hotel is located on what was the stretch of open space between the Princesa Yaiza and the Marina Rubicon (this is an old image of the construction.)
