This year’s wine harvest will be better than expected, according to the Lanzarote Wine Council.
The harvest was predicted to be the worst of the century a couple of weeks ago, but the council has now modified its prediction to 850,000 kilogrammes.
This is the result of better-than-expected results during late August and September, when it was seen that the second budding of many vines had given good results.
This week will see the collection of the moscatel and Diego grapes, both traditionally harvested later than other varieties. The harvest is expected to finish next week.
