Cabildo President, María Dolores Corujo, has announced that Lanzarote will host a commemorative event on Thursday March 23rd, for World Meteorological Day.

The commemorative event will be held at noon in the Salón de Actos del Cabildo de Lanzarote and will be attended by the island’s president, María Dolores Corujo, the sub-delegate of the Government in Las Palmas, Teresa Mayans, and the head of training and formation of Binter crews, Darío Barrejón, among others.

“We are committed to caring for the environment, nature and unique landscapes of Lanzarote and for a socio-economic model based on sustainability and responsibility of each and every one of the people. We are aware that the climate, among other factors, is one of the main attractions we have and we must work in unison to preserve these qualities,” stated Corujo.

As part of the event, Barrejón will give the conference ‘Influence of meteorology on aeronautical operations and its impact on CO2 emissions’.
