Lanzarote’s emergency service Emerlan has sent the first truckload of vital supplies to the Valencia region, to assist those who were affected by the recent flash floods.
Over 2,500 kilos of non-perishable foods and other items were included in the consignment . Emerlan volunteers are already on the ghround in Valencia helping with the immense clean-up.
The donation centre in the Civil Protection premises in Arrecife has received a huge amount of donations already, but more is always welcome. It is located on C/Escotilla 25 on the industrial complex in Arrecife (near the Café y Calor charity, directly opposite Electrisol) and is open from 9 am to 9pm every day of the week. Organisers have called for non-perishable foodstuffs, hygiene items and other vital supplies, but have requested that donors do not bring used clothes.
Meanwhile, Puerto del Carmen is getting ready for Lanza Rocks for Valencia, a charity event that will unite several of Lanzarote’s leading music artists in order to raise funds for the disaster appeal. The event wiull take place from 2pm on Sunday 17th November at Mulligans Bar in Puerto del Carmen’s old town.
