The Lanzarote Musicians Unite online concert, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, 10th May at 12 noon has already raised an astonishing €22,000 for Emerlan.

Organised by David Timmons and Joey Bracken , two Lanzarote-based Irish musicians who’ve seen first-hand the problems that the lockdown is causing for those with no source of income, the concert will bring together at least 36  island-based musicians, who’ll be performing a wide range of material live from their living rooms.

Emerlan are Lanzarote’s volunteer emergency rescue service, and are usually found saving lives on land and sea. However, the COVID 19 is also an emergency, and  Emerlan have been busy buying food and medicine for those who are unable to do so for themselves because of illness or disability. It’s a vital  and much-needed service at a time when it’s most needed.

The concert can be seen on the Lanzarote Musicians Unite. Live Facebook Concert Facebook page, and will run for 12 hours from midday tomorrow.

You can donate on the  Lanzarote Unite page here, and every donation will automatically enter you in the draw for more than 70 fantastic prizes, generously donated by various businesses on Lanzarote.
