Coronavirus continues to linger in Spain and the Canaries, although figures are decreasing gradually in most areas. Lanzarote remains one of the best-performing islands in the Canary islands.
Lanzarote currently has six Covid patients currently in hospital, none of whom are in intensive care. The infection rate among over 65-year-olds (the only category for which data is still published) has decreased slightly in the last seven days
Five Covid patients between the ages of 60 and 95 have died on the Canaries since Saturday, all of them on Tenerife. There are currently 261 Covid patients in the Canaries, 11 of whom are in intensive care. It’s still a considerable number, but only a fraction of the 968 patients who in hospital at the end of June, when there were also 101 in intensive care.
