Lanzarote has claimed the record for the longest promenade in the world, beating the previous record in La Coruña.
The previous record, held by La Coruña, stood at more than 13 kilometres. However, Lanzarote had unofficially taken the title in 2016 when it joined various promenades together and, because no study was carried out to verify its length, Wikipedia hadn’t updated the information and still stated that La Coruña held the title.
The now longest promenade in the world stands at 26 kilometres long.
