The hearing of the Jable Case in Gran Canaria has been suspended while a forensic professional checks the health of one of the accused, ex-Mayor of Arrecife María Isabel Deníz.
Deníz is accused of fraud and bribery, and is being tried in Gran Canaria along with 11 other ex-officials, businessmen and related individuals, including ex-Cabildo President Dimas Martín. Yesterday, the court lifted charges against five of the accused.
If Deníz is declared fit to stand, the case should resume tomorrow.
