With strong sunshine putting windows and glazed doors to the test, choosing the right indoor shading can make a difference to comfort, privacy and interior design. For homeowners and holiday rental property owners, the Fit Box roller blind offers a neat solution without the need to drill into window frames.
November may bring a change in the calendar, but in Lanzarote, sunshine remains a major consideration when it comes to making homes comfortable. Windows and glazed doors can allow considerable light into a room, making effective shading an important part of furnishing a property, whether it is a permanent home or a holiday rental.
For property owners looking for a practical way to manage incoming light without compromising the appearance of their windows, Sol y Sombra’s Fit Box roller blind offers an alternative to traditional installations.
Designed to integrate with glass windows and doors, the system combines a compact decorative cassette with an installation method that does not require drilling. Instead, it attaches directly to the window frame using high-strength 3M adhesive, avoiding screws and additional supports.
This can be particularly relevant for owners of holiday rental properties, where maintaining a tidy finish and protecting existing fixtures may be important considerations. The streamlined design also makes it suitable for residents updating their interiors without wanting visible fixings to interrupt the overall look of a room.
The Fit Box is available with different operating options, including a traditional chain, a handle or a motor powered by a rechargeable battery. The cassette incorporates a slot to conceal the motor antenna and a cover that allows convenient access for recharging.
Its straight lines and self-supporting covers are designed to maintain a consistent appearance around the window, allowing the blind to sit neatly within the surrounding décor.
Customers can also customise the design, choosing an image, colour or pattern to be printed onto the shade.
The Fit Box is just one of a wider range of interior and exterior shading solutions available from Sol Y Sombra, a family business with more than 20 years of experience supplying made-to-measure blinds and awnings. The company provides a professional service from measuring through to installation, with products manufactured in Spain by established national and international suppliers.
Its range includes roller blinds, day-and-night blinds, Venetian blinds, vertical blinds and other systems, alongside exterior awnings and pergolas designed to help make outdoor spaces more usable.
Residents and property owners can visit the Sol Y Sombra showroom in Tías, opposite the Hiperdino supermarket, to browse catalogues, explore colour options and discuss ideas for their homes or businesses.
For anyone considering new window coverings, the showroom provides an opportunity to compare different approaches to light control, privacy and design before choosing a made-to-measure solution.
