Unions and the employers’ federation yesterday signed an agreement that will avert the hotel workers’ strike that had been announced for Easter week.
The agreement will see employees receive a 5% pay rise this year and a further 4% rise in 2026. This will be accompanied by an “attendance and performance-related” one-off payment of €650 in May.
The agreement also provides that both parties take actions to minimise “the current trend of public opinion against tourism and the unattractiveness of tourism-related jobs… clearly referencing the strong commitment of the sector to the improvement of working standards and salaries
