Yesterday afternoon, the emergency services were called to Montaña Roja in Playa Blanca to rescue a hiker who had suffered an ankle injury at the top of the mountain.

Just as the sun set last night, fire fighters were called to Montaña Roja to rescue a hiker that had suffered an ankle fracture and couldn’t walk back down the mountain.

Upon arrival the fire fighters placed the hiker onto a stretcher and walked 350 metres back to the ambulance.

The hiker was stabilised in the ambulance and later taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife.
