Spain’s Meteorolgical Agency (AEMET) forecast strong winds for today and tomorrow, while various beaches on the island wave a red flag, as well rain this Sunday.
Playa Bastian, Playa La Garita, Playa Jablillo, Playa de Las Cucharas and Famara beach are all waving yellow or red flags today due to the strong winds.
The Canarian Ministry of Health have reminded residents that red flag beaches are not to be swam at, and to avoid swimming if under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
AEMET forecast wind speeds of up to 60 km/h today, which looks set to drop over the weekend back down to 25 km/h. Additionally, there is currently a 60% chance of rain forecast on Sunday morning between the hours of 6am – noon.
